Today’s Day

Well, I haven’t made any commentary stuff lately, but maybe a little bit later on this blog. Today, I officially started my job. That’s right, for all those I have not told, I got a job, finally. Thank you all out there who prayed for me. I know I complained a lot about jobs on this blog. It was rough for me, countless times have to remember to just lay it in God’s hands.

So today’s day at work was alright, I am sick, so that did not make it better. I was blowing my nose all day, had this major stomachache that had be holding my stomach all day. Plus as with most people who first start out new jobs, you sit there reading stuff all day. So I only did that half the day. Spent hours reading about ATM (Asynchronous Transfer Mode). Then the next half of the day doing this testing document for the software on the machine they make/design/sell. Personally, that was incredibly boring. But it’s something I’ll have to learn, and it’s a good place to start.

So I’m working at this place called nettest. They make testing equipment for communication networks. That means devices to test out ATM networks, Ethernet networks, Optical networks, and that’s all I got exposed to right now. I’m happy I got this job, and I hope to be fully buried in this stuff soon.

On my drive home, I felt so bad. I was tired at work because of this sickness. And it did not help I had to drive home. I was sick, and it made me drowsy. So let’s hope tomorrow goes better.

I’d like to congratulate my sister, she officially graduated today. Today was her commencement, unfortunately I could not be there (because I started work today). So congratulations to you, this is the start of the rest of your life. Four years go by so fast eh? Even I’m going into fourth year soon, man I’m old.

So I was reading on Yahoo!News. 168 Death Sentences get overturned in the United States. What is wrong with this? First of all, I’m not in agreement with this death sentence anyways, although I can see why people would want some to be put to death. I know as a Christian, I should not say they should be put to death, but I can see their side, although it’d probably be much better to not use the death punishment.

So like what the Supreme Court says is that jurors should make the decisions of the life-or-death determinations, not the judges, which is the reason for these overturned verdicts. But like it’s funny how something like this can get overturned. Like first of all, putting families through the turmoil of the trials probably hurts a lot. Tons of families were probably affected by these trials, and all of a sudden things change, the trauma must be really bad. I think the ones hating this ruling the most are those families of victims. They probably wanted the people to get the life sentence, and just as their hopes went up (albeit at the cost of someone’s life), they are coming down once again after this ruling.

This is what the US is like. They treat peoples’ lives like puppets. They do anything they want, when they want. What is worse now is that all the courts’ reputations are in limbo now. They were overruled by a higher court, ruining their credibility. Who would want to trust these courts anymore. This is a big hit to the law system in the US, if so many bad decisions were made. Kind of makes you wonder what they are doing there. And probably the biggest death sentence supporter, ol’ President Bush, I wonder what he has to say about this, big Texan (pro-death sentence state) and all. Truly disgraceful for the States.

Current Events Today:

- Union for Garbage collectors deliberating offer, will your garbage be picked up soon? Oh, looks like the rejected it.
- Ol’ Texan Bush wants Palestinian Yasser Arafat removed from Presidency.
- 4 drown on Ottawa river, mother and two children on tour.
