What A Wonderful Day
Today was such a great day, I had one of the best days in a while. It all started last night when I went to Hosanna Evangelical for fellowship. We studied Romans 3-4. But the best part was the fact Calvin came to pick me up. It is so great that people willingly do things out of goodness of their heart, and I really am grateful that I have these good friends. I was just telling Calvin during the day that I might not go to fellowship because I had not means to get there, and he automatically said he could drive me, no questions asked. Thanks Cal.
So then today started at 8AM when I woke up, to get ready to catch the 8:43 train downtown. I was meeting a whole bunch of people from Hosanna to go downtown to watch a1 race in the dragon boat. But in addition to Cal, I was also there to watch Viv, Andrew, Carol, Wei-Li, Mike, and Caroline race as well. Way to go guys, you all did great, no matter what your times were or what place you came in. I started my day off by going to Rabba Fine Foods and picking up two croissants and a carton of milk, gotta start the day off with some milk, unfortunately they had no chocolate milk.
So we all brought our rollerblades to Centre island so we bladed around the center of the island. I was so happy to see a whole bunch of people at Centre Island, it’s like every inch I went I saw someone. It’s really great to see everybody go over and enjoy the festivities. So it’s been years since I bladed, I have these ancient blades I got from my cousin a long long time ago, and I just don’t feel like replacing them. But I think it’s about time to get them replaced (if I will be using them). The wheels have worn out a lot, the brakes have worn out a lot, and they just don’t look as cool as the ones that are out now.
So I think I was rather lucky today. I took the Pepsi taste challenge like everyone else and I won a free camera. At first I thought it was this huge camera that had laying around, but it was just a disposable camera, all the same. So let me tell you how I think I (and you can) won it. So they ask you first, which do you drink more, Pepsi/Coke. I said Coke, because I do. Then, they give you the two samples and ask you “Which one tastes better?” So I was thinking to myself, hmm, isn’t the question supposed to be “Which one is Pepsi?”. So I knew which one was the Pepsi, so it tasted a bit better, so I answered the one Pepsi. And then I won the camera. So here is the key, say you like Coke better, then say you think Pepsi tastes better. Therefore, it’s good for a change in heart for those people cause now they know Pepsi is better than Coke (in their eyes). So I went around snapping because it’s free, it’s a good time to take pictures.
I actually never take pictures, I’m not a big fan of pictures, so I never bring a camera. But funny thing, I was changing into shoes, because walking on grass with blades is painful. So I sat down, and I didn’t notice the camera slip out of my pocket. Then I went and saw my friend Carol. So I told her, I won a camera, oh my goodness, it’s gone. I went back, and found it on the ground, lucky me. Unfortunately, I didn’t get to take all the pictures I wanted to.
So I was supposed to get off the island and get to Harbourfront by 1PM so we can go up to our softball game. Unfortunate for me after saying bye to everyone (a long process) I got to the ferry to hear this toot, and I raced there, and the gates were closed. I missed it. So I was worried they’d get back at waiting, but luckily for me, they were so nice, nothing. I actually sat in three different peoples’ car today, who I’ve hardly ever talked to. That in itself was encouraging, because I never talk to them. I get to know just this little about them, and that is so great. I always want to get to know people.
During the game, we went with this strategic move we’ve never done before. It worked alrite, wasn’t bad, wasn’t great either, but good job Cindy. So we played with gallant hearts. We played the NTCBC Ambassadors. I made some good plays at third base. The game was great, both team encouraged the opposing team, and it was nice to just play a good game. The devotion was really good. A lot of heart went into it by my friend Jonathan Sy. It was meaningful, concise, and encouraging. Good job Jon.
Afterwards, team Sanctuary really did not know what to do, since it was still early, so we went to have a practice. It was a good practice all until Trinh (who was pitching) fell on her elbow and dislocated it. I was really scared, and I know how much that hurts. When I dislocated my own knee, it looked just like that. The funniest thing was Trinh was looking at her other elbow in hopes of seeing how it looks, and popping it back in herself. We called 911 and they came to take her away. I am really encouraged by her courage. I know when I dislocated my knee during baseball, I was such a baby, but it hurt. So I do hope she’s okay.
After that, I went to see my friend Vicky, because it was her birthday. It was really nice, we had cake and stuff. Then afterwards we went to Commerce Gate to get card pictures taken. So we fit 10 people into that one booth to take pictures, that was really fun. I never took those pictures before, but it was fun. So Happy Birthday Vicky!!!
Then Bernie drove me home. I am really thankful for Bernie. He is always there to talk to, and I am grateful to have him as a friend. Best of all he is always willing to drive me home, which I am grateful for. So thanks Bernie for your generosity. So I bought him a bubble tea as a little consolation, I hope it did not taste that bad. The milk one in that flavour actually usually tastes better, but I got you the Green tea because it was lighter, milk makes it heavy.
I hope you all had as great a day as I did!
