Impatience
You know, I must say, ever since I started driving to work, I have become so impatient at the wheel. I just want to get to work as fast as possible, so I can get off work sooner, and look keen, and then get home as fast as possible.
I must say my lane changes have gotten better, much more smoother and with no hesitation, however I do it more often. But I think you have to when driving in traffic sometimes. It’s not heavy traffic, enough where there are spaces, but not enough that you can drive 120km/h all the time.
It’s kind of getting me irritated that I am more aggressive at the wheel. I just want to get through the driving as fast as possible, I don’t enjoy it too much right now.
But you know what, driving more also gives me a chance to see how many dumb drivers there are out there. Now I might be one of them, although I’d never admit it, you’d have to see for yourself. However, like I said, there are some very dumb drivers out there that cause accidents.
The general rule is to drive the speed of traffic, when your driving with traffic, and suddenly this car changes into your lane and you have to brake fast because they are driving like they’re in the city, it makes me irritated. The only exception to that rule is when they are coming off an off-ramp (from the city), and then they can’t help it.
One other thing I’ve done more often as I drive it to get on those roads that are off-ramp roads to get ahead of traffic. Actually, I don’t do it much, but there is this one road on the 401 right after Dixon rd going west. If you’re in the far right lane, it ends, but then you see this tempting lane that is the off-ramp road onto the highway where no cars are. It’s just this little scoot over to that lane and you got free road ahead of you for a while. I take that route everyday, because everyone else does it. So why let everyone else get ahead of me, I might as well do it too.
Another thing I’ve been doing more often is listening to 680 News. This is not a bad thing, but I do it mostly to hear how traffic is, and whether I should take collectors or express. Every hour at the 1’s I get a traffic update.
One more thing I do more often is being aware of the general traffic on certain areas of the highways. That means to see where the least traffic is on which lane on every section of road. Means to know when to go on Collectors and when to go on Express. When to take fast lane (far left) and when to take slow lane (far right) to get past traffic. There is like this whole system you have to follow when your driving in traffic if you want to get anywhere.
God, please watch over me as I go to work everyday. Driving to work is stressful and dangerous. Please make sure I am safe and to remind me each time I am impatient behind the wheel. Help me to be calm and relaxed.
Okay, so guess what? I joined the gym. I joined the Clarkson Rock . It is still a bit expensive, but oh well, I joined for two months, so I can either go to school after (and possible work out, or study) or join for a full year there or somewhere else. The building is quite unique, it’s a converted factory. It has a rock climbing gym inside. Has a great view of a park. Although the only setback is it’s got this old-trend going, the interior decoration is this old-style look. It’s got pictures I’d see in Hart House. And the equipment, some look just as old. But nevertheless, some are good. But anyways, I just want to work out, and it’s close to home.
Current Events Today:
- MLB Baseball All-Star game tomorrow.
- Tories are defending funding to privatized MRI clinics. Say that although it seems like benefits only rich people, since they can pay the money, that priority will and must be given to top priority patients first.
- Your garbage is still outside, unless your sneaky like some and bring them to York/Peel region at someone’s house.
- Forest Fires roar in Quebec, reminds me of same stuff in Arizona I think. This is not good.
