Last two days has been really great. Saturday morning I didn't wake up as early as I wanted, but I still woke up at 8:30. I washed up and was out of the door by 9AM. This was the beginning of a new me, I am going to take a jog. I really hate jogging, I think there is something wrong with me that all comes out when I jog. There are several things: I get cramps really fast, I lose my breath really fast, I feel like I am having a heart attack. And this Saturday morning, I found out that it's not only those, but my legs start getting so heavy I am dragging them, but i think this is natural that can happen, just for me it does not take long to happen.

A friend told me to just ignore everything, and keep on going to get yourself past the point where it hurts, and then when you get over that hill, it's like free flowing. Well, that did not happen for me. But I think I did go further this time before my body broke down. This other chinese man who was also jogging pretty much did a few laps before I could do one. How pityful. Anyways, I think I'll try it again next Saturday.

After my jog I went to the car I was walking towards my car and to get my devotional book. This park has got to be one of the nicest parks. Almost everyone greets one another, "Good Morning" the stranger who walks by me says. So there was an old man sitting there, and so I said, Good Morning. Then we chatted it up a little, me seeing his bible in front of him knew he was there for a reason. After getting my devo book, he asks "what are you reading there?" And obviously I went over, told him, and we had something in common. I didn't think I needed the bible to tell me he was religious, he kept on calling me "brother". "Have a good day brother" he'd say to me. This was an old black man, so they can say those things. =)

I told him how I used to come to this park every morning to do my devos in front of the lake, just staring out into the water. That is until I started working. And he says to me "You've got to make time". Well I know this but unless I get up at 5:30AM to do it, it ain't gonna happen. And even then the parking lots are closed at that hour.

It was a good devo, I actually did two because I forgot my bible. I know, why am I doing devos without my bible. Well, people forget. Anyways, but the second one I did really hit home for me. It was about being content and not comparing ourselves to others. You don't care what God has given others, you just care about you and God. And this really hit home for me becuase this past week at work I've been so busy comparing myself to others. I have been comparing myself to others with the matters of promotions. Several colleagues of mine got promotions and I was saying to myself, I deserve it just as much as they do. Where is my promotion. But this devo, man, really set me straight. Now I just gotta keep the same mindset as I go back to work tomorrow. I may or may not deserve it, but the key is not to compare myself to others.

Today after church I came home, my dad was sleeping. So I put down some stuff, got changed, and went back out. I took the new book that TCBC Grad Group is reading: The Life you've always wanted by John Ortberg and went out to find a nice spot to read. Went to the nearby Starbucks, picked up a nice cold drink and walked out to the pier and sat on bench and read. Man, it was very nice just sitting there and reading. With all the shops around me, the water around me, the boats. I must say I think bodies of water really helps me relax. But given it was a marina, lots of boats docking. Man, some of those boats got so annoying, they were so noisey pumping tons of pollution into the air. If only they had Drive Clean for them!

Anyways, sitting out there was nice, more noisey than the park, but it was also nice. Across the pier was a lady singing songs with her guitar. I could hear the whole thing. And sitting there with my coffee frappachinno, that's the life.

Afterwards, i drove onto a side street on my way home, and saw these six nice looking townhomes. One was an open house. I wanted to walk in so badly, but I was hesitant, would they treat me as a non-buyer. Uninterested people need not come? I just wanted to see what the house looked like because it looked nice. A neighbour there had a nice MZ3 in the garage, so it must be upscale. Maybe another time, and maybe if I'm with someone, a girl. It'll look like we're looking for our first home. hahaha.

Anyways, this weekend was just nice because of the calm moments I took, really enjoyed the times when I can just sit, reflect, and see God's creation around me.
